There's nothing worse than spritzing your favourite perfume in the morning only for it to disappear by lunchtime. Here's how to make your fragrance last from morning to night.
1. Moisturise Before You Spray Fragrance clings to hydrated skin much longer than dry skin. Apply an unscented moisturiser or body lotion to your skin before spraying your perfume — it gives the scent something to hold onto.
2. Target Your Pulse Points Pulse points emit heat which naturally diffuses and amplifies your fragrance throughout the day. Apply perfume to your:
- Wrists
- Neck and behind the ears
- Inside of elbows
- Behind the knees
- Chest
3. Don't Rub Your Wrists Together This is one of the most common perfume mistakes! Rubbing your wrists together breaks down the fragrance molecules and makes your perfume fade faster. Spray and let it dry naturally.
4. Spray on Your Hair Hair holds fragrance beautifully. Spritz a little perfume on your hairbrush and run it through your hair for a subtle, long-lasting scent trail wherever you go.
5. Layer Your Fragrance Use matching scented body wash and lotion from the same fragrance family before applying your perfume. Layering builds a stronger, longer-lasting scent.
6. Store Your Perfume Correctly Heat, light, and humidity break down perfume over time. Store your fragrances in a cool, dark place — not in your bathroom!
7. Spray on Your Clothes Fabric holds scent longer than skin. A light spritz on your clothing (test on a hidden area first) can keep your fragrance going all day.
